Antique Two Piece Tansu Chest

This is a 2 section vintage Japanese stacking chest called Kiri Kasane Tansu from Taisho period (1910's-1920's). It is made of the Suginoki (Cryptomeria) and Hinoki (Cypress) woods. It has round lock plates in the middle and Umekomishiki, recessed pulls and comes in various size of storage.
Originally used for kimono storage, it would make a great contemporary dresser or linen cabinet.
