Smithfield Flushmount
A10367
Part of the Smithfield family, the Smithfield ceiling-mounted dimmable lamp manages to be both grand and unassuming in halogen and LED versions. It provides direct light through its aluminum body and is well-suited for various environments.
The inspiration behind the design: English designer Jasper Morrison is known for taking the beauty he sees in the world around him and translating it into his work. To that end, the Smithfield family was named for the Smithfield Market in London, where the artist was inspired by the industrial nature of the fixtures he saw. “I’ve always liked the industrial and functional character of these lights,” he says. “I wanted to do a project out of them, looking for some way of making use of their efficiency in delivering light, and the forms themselves, which are so much a part of the good atmosphere of industrial spaces.”
